Long Duration Energy Storage Council Selects Larissa Fair as Communications Director, North America

17 May, 2022  – BRUSSELS – The Long Duration Energy Storage Council (“The Council”) announced today that Larissa Fair has been hired as its first Communications Director. Fair will lead the Council’s communications and marketing strategy and vision in North America.

Fair is a seasoned communications and marketing strategist with over 18 years of experience in corporate communications and public relations. Most recently she served as the Director of Marketing and Communications for the U.S. Energy Storage Association (ESA), which merged with the American Clean Power Association (ACP) in January. While there, she led public relations and events marketing, developing programs to educate the public and empower members to share their energy storage story.

“I’m so fortunate to join the Council at this critical time and continue my work to advance and accelerate long duration energy storage (LDES) technologies,” said Fair. “The Council is integral to the education and research needed to promote the essential role of LDES in our global economy and decarbonization goals. LDES is a core solution to stabilize and grow our infrastructure to be more resilient to meet global electricity needs and sustainability efforts in the face of climate change and extreme weather events. I’m thrilled to work with the Council to engage our members in uplifting the importance of long duration energy storage.”

Prior to working at ESA, Fair led communications at Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) where she guided communications and event strategy and spearheaded the continued growth of National Clean Energy Week (NCEW) with global clean energy partners. Fair has held senior positions at a number of technology companies. In those roles, she was responsible for leading public relations, social media, events, and corporate branding and messaging efforts.

“I’m proud to have Larissa as one of the first members of our team,” said Julia Souder, Executive Director of the LDES Council. “Her expertise working with membership organizations to navigate communications strategies for success is critical for the Council, and I know our members will appreciate her knowledge and drive. I know that with her leadership, long duration energy storage will continue to be at the epicenter of discussions around decarbonization and our clean energy future.”
