The LDES Council partners with strategic organizations around the globe to educate key stakeholders about long duration energy storage (LDES), and work to implement storage targets, define shared goals, and advocate for policies impacting the acceleration of the diverse family of LDES technologies to reach a goal of 8TW of LDES by 2040.
Working with these partners accelerates progress at each stage of the clean energy transition to expand market share for long duration energy storage. The LDES Council and its membership are able to elevate a global voice and work with these partnerships by facilitating:
LDES Council Partners

The LDES Council is a founding member and current Chair of the Global Renewables Alliance (The GRA), which was launched during COP27. The GRA brings together leading industry players to form a unified renewable energy voice. The group is working with IRENA, the COP28 presidency, and other international organizations to call for a tripling of total renewable energy capacity to 11 TW by 2030.

The LDES Council is part of a group of partners with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to further accelerate the commercialization of long-duration energy storage (LDES). Parties involved include the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Technology Transitions (OTT), the Edison Electric Institutes’ Institute for the Energy Transition, Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), and the Long Duration Energy Storage Council (LDES Council).

The LDES Council, through its leadership as a founding partner of the Global Renewables Alliance, is proud to be working with Sustainable Energy For All as it works to drive faster action towards access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all by 2030. Together with SE4All, the LDES Council is a signatory to the 24/7 Carbon Free Energy Compact -- a set of principles and actions designed to drive systemic change for committed stakeholders across the energy system.
